Monthly Mentor Sessions

giving youth a chance to share openly in a safe environment

Our goal is to create a safe space for everyone to get involved in the discussion. Every month, there is a specific topic that has been identified based on feedback received from educators, parents and mentees. Attendance is mandatory for all mentors and mentees. At the end of the day, we pray that mentee and mentor alike leaves the session less heavy-hearted than they were prior to arriving at the session. This is an opportunity for everyone to meet and share advice, gather insight and learn from each other.

Youth Actually Want To Talk!

“ Some people want to talk to a sibling, parent, priest or rabbi, doctor, counselor, or other person that knows them well. Others want to talk to someone who is not involved in their daily lives. The most important thing is to find a support person who is supportive, trustworthy, a good listener, or available emotionally. “

Adolescent Interest Group (AIG) of the Palo Alto Medical Foundation (PAMF)
The group is composed of PAMF physicians, social workers, educators, and researchers concerned with addressing the health care needs of youth. Getting Support from Others

At-risk young adults with a mentor are more likely to hold a leadership position in a club, sports team, school council, or another group…versus 22% without a mentor.
